Juice Plus Overview
Best Suited For: People who are excited and are passionate about recruiting others to join a company to sell nutritional supplements, etc.
Summary: Juice Plus is not an MLM company as many claimed it to be but it is rather an MLM business opportunity for those who are looking to make some money by selling nutritional supplements & more.
Recommended: Definitely not.
What Is Juice Plus?
I know you have heard a lot about Juice Plus or maybe nothing at all, either way, I want you to leave those information behind.
Let me tell you what it really is and what it is not.
Juice Plus is trying to replace the fruits and vegetables you eat, whether that's a good thing or not can be a very philosophical topic.
That's why I won't go too deep into that.
However, you probably also heard that Juice Plus is an MLM company or network marketing company.
I can tell you that that is not true. It is a branded line of dietary supplements from a company called NSA (National Safety Associates).
National Safety Associates was founded in 1970 by Jay Martin, a schoolteacher-turned-entrepreneur, who continued as CEO as of 2012
Juice Plus, however, is just another product line created by NSA in 1993.
And they were also the first nutritional product line by NSA consisting of its two primary products, Orchard Blend and Garden Blend.
The other products like the Juice Plus Complete (meal replacement powder) and Juice Plus Chewables (Orchard and Garden Blends) came later in 2011.
Juice Plus Product Line
You were taught to eat your vegetables since you were a little kid and how confident are you to say that you are still doing exactly what your parents taught?
I know that many adults and young adults are not even touching vegetables for a few months straight.
Maybe you are, and I am happy for you.
But Juice Plus is growing every year because many people avoid fruits and vegetables altogether.
That is why it came up with the saying ”the next best thing to eating fruits and vegetables”.

Is Juice Plus a Pyramid Scheme?
I don't think Juice Plus is a pyramid scheme because of many reasons.
And the main reason I would say is because of its legitimate products targeting nutritional purposes. For a company to be considered a pyramid scheme, which is an illegal way of "making" money.
The company would have to be tricking people into investing in them without having any physical products to show.
The only thing you can do is take their words for it. Not very promising, right?
There are, however, very similar characteristic between the two, an MLM and a pyramid scheme, let me enlighten you.
The first thing they have in common is that the majority of people who joins a pyramid scheme or an MLM, lose their money.
And the second thing is the way the business model is built.
Take a quick look at this picture below and see for yourself what I mean.
Both an MLM and a pyramid scheme are making use of a business model that is structured like a pyramid, people on top are making the majority of the money generated.
While those on the bottom, mostly newcomers, are losing all their money.
I can tell you without a doubt that Juice Plus is not a pyramid scheme, but it is a legitimate MLM company.
But the money making chances you have with it is also non-existent. Super hard to succeed.
How Much Does It Cost To Join Juice Plus?
To be frank with you, some of you may think that it will cost a fortune to get stared with an MLM.
Which is completely false.
Juice Plus, just like hundreds of other MLMs requires you to pay an entree fee to get started.
You have to pay a one-time fee of $50 to get in, and then purchase $70 worth of products every month to stay active.
Compared to other businesses, I would say it is cheaper.
However, if you put into consideration for the time spent running this business, it may cost you a lot more than just $50 and $70.
Let's put that into a perspective, in one year time you would have to spend at least $890.
In two years time that would be plus $840, and that equals to $1730.
And most people quit because of this.
Upon paying the entree fee, you will receive a few things to help you get started:
- Your Personal Custom Website
- A Back Offic
- Basic Traning
- Marketing Materials
Juice Plus Compensation Plan
The way I see it, every MLM company needs a well detailed compensation plan.
A compensation plan is important because it helps you maximize your earning potential. It's like a guide.
There are two main methods of making money with an MLM:
- Through retail commissions, that's when you purchase the products at wholesale price and sell them to your own customers at retail price, and the difference between the two prices is what you make.
- Through recruiting, the more people you are able to recruit, the more money you will be able to generate. This will eventually lead to the business model I mentioned earlier about pyramid schemes.
Let's take a look at Juice Plus compensation plan.
Most compensation plans are complicated but after looking into the one from Juice Plus, I think it's not that complicated.
It is actually pretty straightforward. The higher up you are in rankings, the more likely you will be able to make bonuses and other incentives.
Here you can see the 7 different ranks:
- Direct Distributor
- Virtual Franchisee
- Sales Coordinator
- Senior Sales Coordinator
- Qualifying National Marketing Director
- National Marketing Director
Take a look at this video explaining the compensation plan in more details.

Is Juice Plus Accredited By The BBB?
Yes, Juice Plus is actually accredited by the BBB (Better Business Bureau) for over 50 years already.
The customer review has a measly 3+ star review behind it.
Aside from that, although it is not impeccable as a product , it has received an A+ rating.
I know that some of you may say that being accredited by the BBB does not necessarily mean it's the best company there is.
And I completely agree with you on that, being accredited by the BBB does not, and I repeat, it does not give you the green light to go crazy.
Always make sure to do your own research, and look into it a little bit more, there are a variety of factors to put into consideration before investing your hard earned money.
What I Like About Juice Plus / The Pros
1. A+ Rating & BBB Accreditation
I think most people overlook this.
Even though I understand that this is not something that can convince everyone that it is a legitimate company.
I still think that being accredited by the Better Business Bureau increases the legitimacy factor.
It is also the first thing to look at when you want to join a company like this before you look any further.
So your investigation starts here.
2. Clinically Tested Supplements
If you browsed through the official website of Juice Plus you will find proof of a lot of clinical researches that's being done.
How much of it is true, I am honestly in no position to answer that for you.
Although the company has been saying from the very start that all their products are being backed up by researches, etc.
Critics don't believe that, they think all these overexaggerated health claims are a way to improve sales, so basically, a marketing gimmick.
However, there are a bunch of people who said that the researches done by Juice Plus are real.
So whether all those health claims are 100% real or not, I think it's still a good thing that they are at least spending enough money in researching.
3. Company's Longevity
Another thing I would consider as a positive point is that the company has been around for quite some time.
If the products really aren't any good then the company would have been short-lived.
But apparently, that's not the case.
Juice Plus has been in business since 1993 and NSA was around in 1970.
What I Dislike About Juice Plus / The Cons
1. No Income Disclosure
Juice Plus has no income disclosure, and for those who knows a thing or two about business knows how important an income statement is.
An income statement shows how confident the company is in itself but with Juice Plus it is not transparent enough.
Especially for a company that has been around for such a long time, you'd expect to see some statement about its income.
Either the numbers are discouragely low and it will have a very bad effect on the future or they just never thought about it.
If I had to gues, I would go with the former.
2. Fake It Till You Make It
This is something I am definitely not proud of.
It is asked of you, literally asked of you to recruit more people by all means, you are even shown how to do that. And one of the most despicable way is by making fake order posts.
You are instructed to post very often on FB and add new friends and message them.
The stuff you need to post are
- Fake Order Post
- Fake Congratulations Post
- Fake Before & After Pictures
In some way, it sounds kinda creepy too.
Going the extra mile is good but only if it's not something immoral and misleading, right?
These are all stories shared by old members of Juice Plus by the way.
3. Overpriced Supplements
The products from Juice Plus may or may not be as great as it says it but one thing I took notice of is the prices.
I honestly think they can dampen the prices a little bit, if you looked for similar products elsewhere, you will see that they aren't as expensive.
Now, I haven't personally tried the products myself but judging by the reviews and feedback from customers, I can only conclude that the opinions are subjective.
It may or may not work for you but the truth, however, remains.
It should not go past a certain price.
Is Juice Plus a Scam?
I don't believe so. Juice Plus is in my eyes not a scam.
But it is not a business opportunity I would recommend either. Like I mentioned earlier, I haven't tried its products to give you my opinion on its nutritional supplements.
From everything I read and heard, the supplements are at the very least average.
So with that said, it will for sure do you more good than harm. You will most likely receive a bunch of good nutrients and vitamins for using it.
But I just can't say the same thing about its business opportunity, I am someone who hate to waste time on inadequate things.
Making money with Juice Plus is possible but it will be so hard and you will be earning so little.
Warren Buffett had a saying that goes like this.
“If You Don't Find a Way To Make Money While You Sleep, You Will Work Until You Die.”
And this made me realize that exchanging my valuable time for something that doesn't help me achieve that is a waste of time.
How I Made Thousands Online In 1 Year?
By reading my review on Juice Plus, you should know by now that I am not a big fan of MLM, and that's not because I hate them or anything.
I, personally, had a very bad experience with MLM thus why I am not recommending it to anyone.
However, there is a business model I do recommend, and it's called affiliate marketing.
The reason why? let me tell you why.
- You do not need to purchase any product to make money.
- You do not need to recruit people to actually make money.
- You are not limited to what you want to promote.
And the best thing is, it is completely FREE to get started with.
I lost thousands of dollars in pursuit of financial freedom, and then it happened, I found it.
I have been making $3.000 dollars month after month.
After years of pursuing financial, time and place freedom, after burning those midnight oils and work my butt off as a manager in a phone shop, I am finally able to live the paradise lifestyle I deserve.
I know you can do it, too.
